Default If you could ask the Commissioner.

If you had the opportunity to ask commish any one question regarding SmallBall.. what would it be?

*EDIT*
Also, lets keep it to 25 or so words or less.. also, please try to not post a question that was already asked ahead of you.. Thanks!

What is SmallBall's future?

Commish> I dont know for sure. But its been 9 years!!! do you believe it? I will keep it going and when I die, it will become open source. I will send everyone their data for their teams so they can move them about.

Understanding that he loves the game, also understanding that like most adults he has to prioritize what's important to him in his life, yet also understanding that maybe things weren't handled the best way possible, my question would be if there are any plans underway to maintain smallball in a more customer-friendly environment until or if he returns.
Something like paying someone to follow up with the smallball mall issues, but not much more...seems to me that even though the community has shrunk, if that one issue can be handled it would have a positive effect on new players, generating more income, etc. Not looking for a return to the glory days of commish on the forums, being able to email dtguy, etc., just wondering if there are plans in place, or if it's just being winged...

Commish>> winged right now. But I have some people to help me. I am finishing a big project right now that does two things for me and you - gets me more time for SB and more support in terms of hosting etc. I need to make a partnership so that I can do more. Its all in the works. I know thats not a satisfying answer but I intend for things to get better.

Can you please form that together into a question that can be copied if needed. 25 words or less.

Who is responsible for resetting the servers, ensuring that customers receive tickets, and that the ads in the SmallBall Mall are up to date?

Edit: I don't ask in a resentful way, but hoping for an answer that may lead me to purchase from the mall once again.

Commish>> buck stops here.

Will there be an admin team in the near future to handle server problems, updating the home page, and the like?

Commish>> the question should be: Will server problems and updates be handled FASTER in the future. Answer: yes

Paper or Plastic?

Commish>> Paper unless I only have one hand to carry the bag.

Now for a serious question: Open Source? What would be your ideas on that concept with Smallball? If not full source release of the game to the community at large, could you allow for a team of leaders to control the standards?

(I'm trying to limit this to 25 words, there are many questions and valid arguments to why things could possibly go in a certain direction, but I'll leave it at that. I'd like to see stadiums that are created by users with certain standards set to control them, etc...)

Commish>> Ok the open source idea is just an idea right now. We would need to somehow let people HAVE their team data so they can submit it to anyone who is hosting an SB universe. Basically decentralize the sb database. Of course securtity issues arise and the overal integrity of smallball teams could be comprimised. Maybe we can do team transfer another way but its not that big of an issue yet. Its not easy to maintain the sb universe and programming skills will be required to change how the game works. However ULs and other features can be used to make a more customized universe.

I know it sounds like a better reality, but it is NOT going to happen anytime soon. If I die it will happen, if I lose the ability to keep the game alive and your teams alive then it will happen. SB forever.

Could commish or someone put someone incharge help me reset the password for a team of mine?

Commish>> yes, soon I will have some customer care help, and some tech help to allow community leaders to assist in password recovery, bad team names, etc.

What are you going to do with all the PL1-PL 9 (mostly PL1 - PL4)teams that droped out this season?

Commish>> honestly I dont know what to do. Nothing has to be the answer. to go back in time is DANGEROUS - I know its unfair, its like getting struck by lighting - its not your fault. EDIT : I have another question. I remember that you said that there probably going to be a season 200 stadium. is that still going to happen?

Commish>> not sure.
