I read on the forums here somewhere that a gain of .01 in a skill meant that the player was maxed in that skill at least for the day, if not for good. Has anyone else had odd gains using the ST? One time I will get a gain in a skill of .01, which supposedly means I'm maxed for the day, but then my next gain will be 2 or 3 which means I'm not maxed, right? Which number do I use? Do I say the 2 or 3 doesn't mean anything because I've already had my .01 gain? Or am I not maxed and I should keep going (which is what I think should happen)?

I wouldn't say a +.01 means he's maxed for the day. It's common to get exactly what you said where they get a +.01 and then get a good gain after that.
If he picks up the +.01 gain over and over, like say maybe 6 or 7 times, then it's starting to become pretty obvious that he's reached his max for the day. Look for +.06 or maybe even +.1x before you assume he's there. |

And if it's in the area they are training in as well. For example, if he is in pitching pen, and he gets a +.01 gain in throwing, he more than likely is not maxed in throwing. It would only work if he got +.01 pitching gain.
Players will never stay maxed for good. The lose skill everyday, it differs between players by how much and how fast. |
