Not really, just means your team came out to play, and the only advantages on stads is that you can hit more HRs on the shorter walls, so if you have an all righty team that can hit, you can beat 12 lefty teams in BY

Not at all. If both of you are only 7*, then he likely hasn't started (or done much) training in hitting. If you look you onyl got 9 hits, not much better. Have you trained a bunch in hitting? If so, and he hasn't, then I would say it proves the opposite. Lefties are better than righties. In terms of basehits (not HRs), lefties should always have the advantage. They get the advantage with the slight shift of the outfield, and with runners on second and the 3-4 hole. Trust me, lefties are better than righties.

It proves your the better team! (on that day) Lefties are better. Left handed players are capable of hitting triples while a righty could struggle with that. Also if the lefties play at home at brickyard they have the capability to hit signifigantly more homers than their right handed counterparts. It means you can only hit to centerfield.

Question: The philadelphia eagles beat the new york giants while the eagles were in the giants stadium. Does that prove anything? That being at home is bad? No. Just proves homefield advantage doesnt guarantee victory.

Does this prove that rightys can win in BY or is this a fluke?

epiphanic

It doesn't matter if it's a fluke or not. It is possible. This thread has had multiple examples of a 12R team beating a 12L team in Brickyard. A 12L team will have the advantage playing in a pro-lefty park such as Brickyard, but it is not an insurmountable advantage. That's what's important.

Who said righties CAN'T win in BY? Were you under the impression that it was IMPOSSIBLE for a 12L team to lose to a 12R team in BY? It's not. Using BY just stacks the odds in their favor. Like carnival games or a casino, odds are in favor of the house, but that doesn't mean you can't EVER win a hand of poker, does it?

I thought that BY was like Cent.
Rightys don't do well in BY and leftys don't do well in Cent.

A couple games aren't going to mean anything. It is possible for a righty team to beat a lefty team in brickyard. The only difference is that the 12 lefty team will get a slight advantage. Really, the only advantage a lefty team has in brickyard is that it's very hard for a righty to hit a HR in BY, and the huge gap between 1st and second when a runner is on second (which is an advantage leftys have in all stadiums). So the only advantage a Lefty has in brickyard compared to any other stadiums is Homeruns. You can win games without hitting homeruns. So unless you ran an experiment that isolated the variables Righty or Lefty, and ran the experiment a large number of times, this really means nothing. Right now there are too many lurking variables to be accounted for. To isolate the variables, you would need two teams that were exactly the same, had been trained the exact same way. Had the exact same skill loss and gains per day. So the closest you could get would be to start with two brand new teams. Make one all righty. Make one all Lefty. And train them the exact same way each day. There won't be a way to isolate the skill gain and losses for each day though. So there could still be some extranneous variable that isn't isolated. If you had two teams that were identical to each other in every way, and you played a large number of games, say 1000, then you might be able to draw a conclusion. But when you are playing a few games here and there against teams that aren't trained the same way as you, there are too many extranneous variables not being accounted for.

*THE*MANNY
02-07-2009, 08:49 PM
Since you can't do what Rsandz says though (obviously not worth while) the next best idea would be to play teams in neutral stads, either Intel or World. Play there a bunch of times then decide whether or not righties are better than lefties.

I'll consider that when I finish all the tourneys I'm in and when I get some free time.

There's too many factors to do any testing like that... Skill, * level, balance of team, batting order, and Smallball's randomness.

Playing a 12 lefty team in brickyard with a 12 righty team is like flipping a coin with one side slightly heavier than the other. Most likely the lefty team will win, if they are similar skill sets, but there's always a chance.
